The Return Of Grandma, And Our Upcoming Trip To Bangkok!

SO sorry I have not written very frequently.

For starters, my blog is still being designed ( but almost finished and you will LOVE the new look!!!).

Next, I am enrolled in two schools, Digital Nomad Academy and Maneesh Sethi’s course.

My husband is now working at his school from 1 to 8 ( sigh) as he had a new student enroll, so days have been LONG, and super exhausting.

Then to top it all of, I have tried to write about 5 posts and get this: my photos wouldn’t upload. Over and over I kept trying to upload them, to no avail. I can upload anything to my blogger blog, but not here. So I went through my facebook pics and found this lovely one of Billy wading after Kaya.

This is a great month. First of all my friend Yara was here, and I got to have a nice dinner with her. It’s been what, 5 years Yara?

The lovely Miller family has just moved here, and we visited them in Nai Yang! It was lovely to meet such a beautiful, inspirational family. And then, out of the blue, my mom decided she was going to come out for a month and will be here in 8 days!! AND we are going to take a trip to Bangkok baby!

There are a few things you should know about her. My mom, that is.

She is a MAJOR gourmand, and she used to live in Singapore; she LOVES spicy food and Thai food in particular. So going out to eat with her and showing her the sites is major fun. She is a badarse cook as well, I might add.

She also hasn’t seen Kaya in a year, and misses her dearly. It’s one of the reasons we are all moving to Scotland: so we can be together, and then fly yearly to the States to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Birmingham.

I can’t wait to go to Bangkok!!! We are going to stay at the same hotel Billy and I honeymooned at!!! I will put up pics to show you, if you want to see me well rested an 6 years younger (lol).

Hope you are all having a wonderful month!!

Unschooling in Panwa

unschooling  It was a long, long day. Billy was working nearby and Kaya and I decided to use the hotel facilities, after we had had lunch. Panwa Beach Resort was nearly empty, and located on one of Phuket’s nicest beaches. We had tagged along with Billy so that the little one could get out of the house and play on the beach ( one of the best places for unschooling my friends!! NATURE!). We chased crabs, played in the baby pool, and drank mango shakes in the sun.

Birthday Trip To Phuket Aquarium

Phuket AquariumPhuket AquariumPhuket aquariumPhuket Aquarium

And when you've finished, sit and have a coffee in the best spot in the world

This was our first little trip to the Phuket Aquarium, and Kaya can’t wait to go back. I’ve been frequently asked about things to do in Phuket and Thailand in general, and I think the local aquarium is a great place for kids. The location couldn’t be better, the view is to die for. Most people who come to Phuket first stay in or connect from Bangkok. If you fly to Bangkok you can easily find a cheap ticket from Air Asia to Phuket, even when booked a day or two before your flight.

Phuket residents who haven’t visited the aquarium are missing out. It really is unique and my daughter loved it.

Phuket Zoo trip

Phuket ZooSo, a few weeks ago we decided to FINALLY go to the Phuket Zoo! It is the strangest zoo I have ever been to, and quite intriguing. There are few signs as to where to go, and beer bottles all over the place. Part of it is under construction.

Christmas in Phuket (and the new blog)

We had a fun  Christmas, despite the lack of gifts. Kaya got a new bike that we got here in Chalong, and we went out to breakfast at what we call ‘Billy’s restaurant’, the one next to his school. It is such a lovely place, and the couple who run it are so kind. And my gosh it was open Christmas morning.

We had a vegan Christmas dinner of al dente veg, tofu latkes and my

signature shiitake and rosemary gravy, with potatoes of course.

And since we had no cranberry sauce…..

Lingonberries!

We also started an additional blog, The Bradley’s Basically, we wanted to move this blog

over to blogger, as I prefer the design of blogger blogs and love

Maie Dae’s work. However, it was somewhat challenging to move this one over.

Instead, we decided to use that one to focus on marriage and the

‘artistic’ side of the holistic and artistic family, and this one to continue

with home education and family travel, as well as daily life.

Maybe one day we will integrate the two, if possible.

So head on over there,if you have a chance, and subscribe!

Mokafe pics and blog hop!

I’ve written before about our hangout Mokafe in Phuket.

We went back last week and David made us french toast

with a mango compote.

Incredible.

We also got some bruschetta, which was my

favorite dish.

What is your favorite hangout in your town/island/city?

Come and join the blog hop!!!

Rimtang@Chalong

We are so blessed to be near some very family friendly places.  One of which is about a 2 minute drive

from us, Rimtang Chalong. We never entered it for some time,

thinking it was expensive.

But it is very reasonably priced and honestly, it is a major break for me, after a day of unschooling my preschooler.

It makes me insanely happy knowing we have a place near us that has free wifi, looks

like a five star restaurant ( with ornate Thai design everywhere) and great food.

If you are prepping for the holidays, one of my favorite places to shop is Limelight, in Phuket Town. The indie market has some great homemade and vintage finds! I also love for kids’ clothes the Tea Collection! Tea Collection will be having a special Black Friday sale featuring $15 dresses for girls and $15 pants for boys valid 11/25 through 11/27. For girls, I love the Pinata Stripe Dress! This dress was inspired by the brightly colored striped pinatas in Mexico. The dress is made of 100% cotton and machine washable and is sure to create tons of fun. The Ticking Stripe Pant is really cute, as is the  Little Citizens Pajamas. This adorable pj set is inspired by Mexico’s famous Arbol del Tule. Not only are these pj’s adorable but proceeds from your sale will benefit the Global Fund for Children and their work advancing the dignity of children around the world. I also love the Art To Go Deluxe Set. This is the perfect gift for the little artist whose creativity won’t be contained–even on the road!
